1. Giving your kids cake pops before school doesn’t make you a bad mom. It makes you a mom who wants a coffee after a few hard days and maybe cake pops are like coffee to your kids. They’ll live, and they’ll smile. Win win.
2. The right way to feel does not exist. It can change from day to day. It can change from hour to hour. Heck, it can change from minute to minute. You aren’t crazy, you’re just human.
3. Sometimes when you’re having a hard time you want to play worship music really loud and belt out (extremely out of tune) about the goodness of God. Sometimes when you’re having a hard time you want to play Halsey really loud and belt out (still out of tune) every single lyric, cuss words and all. No matter which you choose, God is still good and hopefully you feel a little better.
4. If something upsets you, hurts your feelings, worries you, concerns you, angers you-please, I’m begging you, please say something. Maybe not right at the moment but soon. The wreckage from holding it in is worse, I promise.
5. You are not too much. You are not “not enough.” You are not broken (at least not more than the next guy). You are fearfully, wonderfully, made in the image of a great, loving, God. He sees you, and He loves you. (Preaching this one to myself)
6. Life is messy, we are messy. Maybe we’d smile (and write) a bit more if we quit taking ourselves too seriously.
Maybe I’ll return next Thursday with some more thoughts to share. Maybe they will live in my head instead. Honestly, its anyone’s guess on how this will go. In the mean time, have a Thursday Thought (or seven)? I’d love to hear/read them.
Love this with all my heart. From the girl who permanently feels simultaneously too much and not enough 💛
Love number 5 💛
